News: Waves displace more than 1T families

WIND -whipped giant waves struck across Misamis Oriental coastal towns, destroying homes, seaside properties and even crops but hurting no one.

In a data from the Provincial Social Welfare Office (PSWO), waves as big as three meters started beating the coastal villages at around 7 p.m. Tuesday. By 2 a.m. Wednesday, 608 houses were either ruined or partially damaged in at least 16 seaside municipalities.

GINGOOG City police are still facing a blank wall in the death of an alleged former soldier in Barangay 26, Gingoog last Monday evening.

Gingoog police said Heldie Caralde, 48, was found at the back portion of his multicab passenger vehicle bearing multiple gunshot and stab wounds in various parts of his body.
