News: Red Cross sets 2-month training

THE local chapter of the Philippine National Red Cross is conducting the two-month first Emergency Medical Technician-B course early next year.

The training venue will be at the Red Cross Youth Hostel in Pettit Barracks, Zamboanga City from January 7 to March 7. The field exposure will be announced during the training.

MAYOR Celso Lobregat, head of the Local Price Coordinating Council, has urged local meat retailers to set chicken prices at an affordable level and not to take advantage of the meat shortage experienced in the city.

Lobregat Friday night called for an emergency meeting of key members of the Local Price Coordinating Council and local integrators or distributors following reports that prices of chicken reached as high as P160 to P200 per kilo at the local market the past few days.

News: Zambo Norte mayors condemn Sec. Gonzales on Jalosjos case

DAPITAN CITY — The League of Municipalities in Zamboanga del Norte province has condemned Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Raul Gonzales, accusing him of “double standard justice” and in handling the case of former Congressman Romeo Jalosjos and allegedly crippling the latter’s right as a human.

The condemnation was done through Resolution Number 05-2007, “condemning the act of the Secretary of Justice, the honorable Raul Gonzales, for the implementation of his double standard justice and crippling the human right of a person without justifiable cause.”
